New Bern Towers
New Bern Towers consists of 106 apartments for seniors and provides Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance. The property has benefited from improvements made throughout its history and continues to receive updates designed to enhance the quality and features of individual apartment units.
The New Bern Housing Authority previously implemented a plan to improve various features within individual units. These efforts were temporarily paused in September 2018 while the Authority addressed issues resulting from Hurricane Florence. Improvement work resumed in 2019 and remains ongoing.
Eligibility
New Bern Towers serves elderly and disabled residents. To qualify for an apartment, applicants must meet the applicable elderly eligibility requirements or be at least 50 years of age and have a qualifying disability. Applicants must also meet all other applicable eligibility and screening requirements for the property and its rental assistance program.
