Urban Strategies, Inc. (USI) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support community revitalization efforts in New Bern. This Choice Neighborhood Initiatives grant-funded position will focus on strengthening family stability, building community partnerships, supporting housing stability, and creating opportunities for residents to achieve greater economic mobility.
The Project Manager will work closely with residents, community organizations, service providers, housing management, and other partners to develop and implement strategies that support neighborhood revitalization and positive outcomes for families.
Key responsibilities include developing community partnerships, coordinating programs and special projects, supporting resident and community engagement, managing project contracts and budgets, tracking and reporting program outcomes, facilitating leadership and capacity-building activities, supporting fundraising and sustainability efforts, and connecting residents with financial education, credit-building, entrepreneurship, housing, and other economic-mobility resources.
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required, with a master's degree preferred. Applicants should have at least 5 years of nonprofit or human services experience, including increasing responsibility in project management, partnership oversight, contract management, and team supervision. Strong communication, leadership, organizational, data analysis, budgeting, and community engagement skills are essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel, is also preferred.
Some evening/weekend work and travel may be required. Supervisory responsibilities may include site-based staff, resident outreach workers, interns, or practicum students.
